Tuesday's Global Dairy Trade (GDT) index saw a further improvement in prices to €3,341/t, an increase of 2.3%.

This was the third consecutive rise at the auction, with strong trade for powders once again.

The value of whole milk powder increased by 3% to an average value of €3,098/t, while skim milk powder increased 7.6% to €3,021/t.

Cheddar was up marginally to €3,230/t, a rise of 0.6%.

AMF has reduced in value by 6% to an average price of €5,170/t.

For the second auction running, butter decreased in value, down 2% to €4,391/t.

Lactose increased 3.2% in value to €1,559/t.

Cheddar was up marginally to €3,230/t, a rise of 0.6%, while mozzarella jumped 6.1% to €3,652/t.
