On Tuesday, Ennis Mart saw a entry of 447 cattle sell to a clearance of 97%, with a strong entry of weanling bulls.

Bulls weighing between 300kg and 400kg saw the biggest entry, with 137 on offer in this weight category.

These bulls averaged €5.03/kg, with the top third selling to an impressive average of €5.85/kg and the bottom third of bulls averaging out at €4.13/kg.

While weanling bulls weighing between 200kg and 300kg saw a lower entry, the top third of these sold to an average of €6.39/kg, with the bottom third selling to an average of €4.88/kg.

A small entry of bulls weighing over 450kg sold to an average of €4.99/kg.

Weanling heifers saw a lower entry compared with bulls, as heifers weighing between 300kg and 400kg saw the biggest entry.

The top third of these heifers sold to an average of €4.66/kg, while heifers in the above weight bracket averaged out at €4.20/kg.

Lighter heifers weighing between 200kg and 300kg averaged out at €4.19/kg, with the top third of heifers selling to an average of €4.74/kg.
