The president of the Irish Grassland Association (IGA) has resigned from the role.
Vincent Griffith confirmed to the Irish Farmers Journal that he has stepped down from the role.
Griffith runs a spring-calving cross-bred herd in Claremorris, Co Mayo.
He managed the Aurivo farm profitability programme from 2014 to 2023 and spent the previous five years working in Teagasc Moorepark.
The IGA has been approached for comment.
Voluntary organisation
The IGA website states that it is a voluntary organisation, where the office manager is the only paid employee.
It is a company limited by guarantee of which company accounts show there are two directors: Alan Kelly, a past president; and Maura Callery, the office manager.
There are 24 members on the IGA council and each elected member serves a three-year term.
The president holds office for 12 months (September to end of August) and is succeeded each year by the vice-president nominated by the president, vice-president, immediate past president and office manager.
