I was bemused to hear that France has banned people taking flights where an alternative train can get them to their destination in less than three hours.

The move is designed to get the French to think about cutting their air miles, and drop their carbon footprint. Meanwhile, Dublin Airport is set to have 32 extra flights in its lineup this winter.

While The Dealer loves to jet set to Dublin for the day, I could make do with a first-class rail carriage. Maybe the Irish Government could also curtail flights instead of farming?
